WAM Moment of the Week

Blog makeover day is tomorrow! Just saying :D

We all have times when something happens where you know that it's annoying and totally not funny, but the back of your brain is laughing at you cause you know it'll be funny later and that if it happened to anyone else you'd find it hilarious! Or there's times as a mommy where it's simply a situation that other moms can totally relate too. 

I've decide to share one of these moments with you each week. Hoping you laugh or chuckle along with me, or even have a smile and an "Oh my gosh, I so know the feeling" moment. It's the Wife. Author. Mother. Moment of the Week and it's starting right now! :P :D

WAM Moment of the Week:

Standing at the front of the line at the checkout in a gas station. I'm trying to buy a litre of oil for my van. Just as it's almost my turn I remember that payday isn't until tomorrow and this happened to be one of those weeks where we needed every dollar. So I'm frantically punching at my phone to check the mobile banking app. I don't have enough on the one debit card, or in the other debit account. (don't have credit cards right now cause we gotta pay down some debt) Oy vay! I have to use two separate debit cards, plus transfer a couple dollars into the chequing on the one of them just to make it work. What? Confirm transfer? Yes. Confirmed transfer for the third time already! Smashing the button again and again. Stupid touch pad. Meanwhile there's a pile up of six people behind me and feeling all their eyes on my back doesn't make it any easier to do the thing quickly. 2 debit cards and one money transfer on a mobile app later I walk out the door with oil in hand, hooray! I then proceed to walk right back in again as I've left my keys on the counter. Yeah, I am that person. But I really don't mean to be, don't even want to be! :| :S :D LOL

Mommyhood Moments

There are many who are mothers. But for those of us who don't have year round live-in nannies that put the children to bed in gold-plated cribs, we live in the world of 'Mommyhood'. Anyone who is a permanent resident of this realm knows exactly what I'm talking about. To give those other readers in the blogosphere a taste of what Mommyhood is like here's a few things that have inducted me into this realm:

Walking on a very uncomfortable boot only to pull it off and discover that there was a fruitloop in it.

Finding stains on my shirt, pants, pajamas, you name it, and having no idea where they came from.

Realizing there's playdoh under my nice freshly done nails.

Reaching that point where not putting my hair in a ponytail is all of a sudden 'fancy'.

Discovering that the 'dirt' I was forever trying to scrub off my kids' head was actually freckles (a year and a half later).

Searching forever to find the baby nail clippers, only to pull them out of the bottom of my purse a week later.

Putting my hand in a coat pocket after a long while and pulling out an unused diaper two sizes smaller than what my kid currently wears.

Anyone else have some fun Mommyhood Moments? I'd love to hear about them. :D Hope this made all you mommies (and you non-mommies) laugh.

So Thursday I was having a terrible horrible no good very bad day (Alexander is awesome). Later that night though I came across two things on my facebook that totally cheered me up and gave me great laughs! :D

The first thing that totally made my day was when Serendipity Literary Agency shared this photo on their Facebook page:

So so true! :D And don't you just love the pic of a book jumping off a shelf? :P

I couldn't stop laughing!

The Strange Workings and Writings of a Mind that Skips Too Far Ahead of Itself

"Wow. I tell you what— wow!" I just read over a document I'd labelled as 'Science Project Novel'. Looking at the info on my computer I typed it up almost two years ago. Apparently my brain jumped faster than my fingers could type because it makes no sense at all. If you're a writer of any sort you'll understand that sometimes as you're typing you think everything will come back to you when you read it again. This time it definitely didn't. I actually laughed out loud when I read it. So enjoy the convulsions of my mind and see what you can discern.

magazine worked for a while..... sending things away but she didn’t know what she was doing and once she saw the title she freaked out and once she told people it stopped working as well.

in front of a whole bunch of people her sister disappeared (shoe lace pulled one way after levitating

 no one wants to believe their eyes

she reads a couple things to say off the magazine but then realizes....

Community centre w/cafeteria and pool

everyone thinks she’s crazy in her class and no one believes her.... her sister gets sucked in to the other world and she has to rescue her

pull a shoe lace this way at this spot and you’ll get sucked in

she had to go to an info (?) counter and hand in a form for a blood test.... lady at the counter hear her complaining and tells her that she passes on this test to them but that she can do it if she want........”they get this paper? and just this? so i can send them a message? send my sister a message?”

 she has to open a portal above the cafe conveyor belt using the key from inside the detergent by the dish washing machine in the caf .... then hold her paper above it paper disappears in a white light opening that closes and shuts

So pretty crazy hard to understand. Hope it made you laugh. And that you caught a glimpse of the crazy inner workings of an author's mind.
